On November 24th, the reporter learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Administration of Defective Automotive Product Recall" and the "Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of Defective Automotive Product Recall". Starting from now on, a total of 2 imported Model X electric vehicles with production dates from July 7, 2023 to August 1, 2023 will be recalled.
The vehicles within the scope of this recall have undergone steering wheel type modifications at the Tesla Service Center, but the modified new steering wheel still has airbags of the original type installed, resulting in a mismatch between the airbags and the new steering wheel. When a vehicle collides, the protective performance of the airbag may be affected, which increases the risk of driver injury in accidents and poses a safety hazard.
Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. will inspect vehicles within the recall scope. If it is found that the airbag type does not match the steering wheel type, it will be replaced with the correct type of airbag for free to eliminate safety hazards.
Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. will notify relevant car owners through registered mail, text messages, and other means to arrange for recall and repair matters.
