Pfizer will lay off 500 employees in the UK to reduce costs. Pfizer announced on November 14th that as part of its $3.5 billion cost reduction plan, the company will lay off 500 employees at its production base in Sandwich, Kent, UK. Due to the lower than expected sales of COVID-19 vaccine and therapy, Pfizer announced its cost reduction plan in October, and previously lowered its annual revenue forecast.
