On December 3rd, it was reported that Microsoft is facing a £ 1 billion lawsuit in the UK due to disputes over the company's charging methods for some customers who have purchased cloud software services that compete with Microsoft Azure.
This lawsuit is filed by litigation professional firm Scott+Scott on behalf of multiple parties, accusing Microsoft of using its dominant position in essential computer operating systems to unfairly charge higher fees to commercial customers who purchase its Windows Server and use it with Microsoft's main competitor's cloud platform.
Scott+Scott, headquartered in New York, filed this lawsuit with the UK Competition Appeals Court on the 3rd local time. Scott Scott stated that Microsoft is "punishing UK businesses and organizations that use cloud computing services such as Google and Amazon, forcing them to pay more for Windows Server".
