Beijing Business Daily News (Reporter Zhang Tianyuan) On December 3rd, Starbucks China's 20th sign language store, and also the second sign language store in Beijing, opened at Wangjing Wanxiang Hui. From the scene, the creative murals created by hearing-impaired partners and artists in the store are particularly eye-catching. In terms of personnel, the four hearing-impaired baristas in the store have an average of 6 years of star age and experience. They provide customers with ordering and interactive experiences through accessible facilities such as double-sided ordering screens, voice converters, and handwriting boards.
It is reported that since the first sign language store was established in 2019, Starbucks has opened 20 sign language stores in 16 cities across the country. Over a hundred deaf baristas have gained equal employment and development opportunities through Starbucks sign language stores. As of now, Starbucks has trained over 200 "black apron" deaf coffee masters nationwide, of whom 28 have been promoted to duty supervisors and 4 have grown into store managers, independently managing various store affairs including operations, finance, personnel, and cross departmental communication.
