Another AI glasses player has been added. On November 12th, at the Baidu World Conference, Baidu's intelligent hardware company, Xiaodu, released its first AR glasses. The glasses connect to the Baidu Wenxin big model through Bluetooth or WiFi network, and AI can perceive visual and audio information and provide user feedback.
At present, Baidu has not yet announced the price and specific release time of this pair of glasses, only stating that it will be launched in the first half of 2025.
Baidu's product is benchmarked against Meta and the smart glasses "Ray Ban Meta" launched by eyewear company Ray Ban in September 2023. In terms of specific configuration, the glasses weigh 45 grams, are equipped with a 16MP ultra wide angle camera, and support AI anti shake algorithm; The nominal standby life is 56 hours, supporting over 5 hours of continuous listening and can be fully charged in 30 minutes; Equipped with a four microphone array for sound recognition and featuring an open leak proof speaker design.
As for the core system chip, Baidu has not disclosed it. A Baidu insider stated that the AI glasses launched this time are more of an experimental project, focusing on multimodal visual capabilities. Currently, the delay of voice conversations has been controlled below 3 seconds.
According to Caixin, IDC China analyst Ye Qingqing analyzed that the AI glasses launched by Xiaodu this time are similar to the "Ray Ban Meta", mainly focusing on light functions such as AI, shooting, and translation. The AI glasses market will grow rapidly from the second half of 2024, and domestic manufacturers are accelerating their entry. It is expected that more manufacturers will launch related products in 2025.
