Beijing, October 17 (Xinhua) -- BHP Billiton released its third quarter 2024 operating report on October 17. The report shows that BHP's iron ore production in Western Australia in the third quarter of this year was 71.593 million tons, a decrease of 6.75% compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 3.09% year-on-year; The sales volume of iron ore was 71.543 million tons, a month on month decrease of 5.74% and a year-on-year decrease of 0.29%.
The report also stated that BHP Billiton will maintain its iron ore target guidance (100% benchmark) for the fiscal year 2025 (July 2024 to June 2025) at 282 million tons to 294 million tons unchanged.
In terms of other products, BHP's copper production in the third quarter of 2024 was 476300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 4%.
