Red Star Capital Bureau reported on October 11th that Tesla (TSLA. US) held its "WE, ROBOT" (We, Robots) launch event in California, USA. Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk previously stated that this will be a day that goes down in history.
Due to the discomfort of some people on site and the need for medical treatment, the press conference originally scheduled to start at 10am has been postponed to near 11am. Musk arrived at the event site in a Tesla self driving taxi. He stated that Tesla's self driving taxi is called Cybercab and it does not have a steering wheel or pedals. He also announced that autonomous taxis will not be equipped with plugs, but will use induction charging.
Musk pointed out that Tesla's autonomous taxis can improve the operational efficiency of vehicles and the travel efficiency of passengers, while ensuring the safety of vehicle operation. At present, its cost is not low, with an operating cost of about $1 per mile. However, as this business continues to expand, the vehicle cost will be less than $30000, and the operating cost can be reduced to $0.2 per mile. The new car is expected to enter production in 2026.
He also stated that all of Tesla's new models (Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck, etc.) will hit the roads in California and Texas next year and be equipped with unsupervised FSD fully autonomous driving software.
It is worth noting that at the event, Tesla also unveiled the Robovan model for the first time, which can carry more than 20 people and transport goods.
In addition, Musk also announced the latest progress of Tesla's humanoid robot Optimus on site. Tesla's humanoid robots can do household chores, take care of children, walk dogs, etc. In the case of large-scale production, their cost will be significantly reduced to $20000 to $30000 per unit.
