Recently, Joey Zukran, a lawyer from Quebec, Canada, filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing it of promoting the waterproof function of the iPhone in advertisements but not assuming responsibility for water damage in the warranty terms. Zukran hopes to turn this case into a class action lawsuit to represent more damaged consumers. The plaintiff is a 19-year-old student who accidentally dropped her phone into a swimming pool while traveling in Mexico and later discovered that the phone was no longer usable. When she brought the phone to the Apple after-sales service center, she was informed that it could not be repaired due to water ingress.
