On September 6th, the first pure electric model of Lynk&Co, the Lynk&Co Z10, was launched. The new car comes in 5 versions and is priced between 202800 and 299800 yuan. After a limited time discount, the price range is between 196800 and 288800 yuan.
The car has a range of 602 kilometers to 806 kilometers and is equipped with both single motor and dual motor versions in terms of power. It is reported that 15 minutes of charging can increase the range by 573 kilometers. Lin Jie, the general manager of Lynk&Co's automotive sales company, stated at the press conference that Lynk&Co will not only use the existing Geely internal energy replenishment system, but also build some of its own charging stations to meet demand.
As the first pure electric product, the Lynk&Co Z10 aims to meet the household user market that Lynk&Co has previously targeted, attracting young car buyers with large interior space and comfort.
As a pure electric product under Geely, like Jike 001 and Galaxy E8, the Lynk&Co Z10 is also built on Geely's vast architecture. This also makes the Lynk&Co Z10 often compared to the Jike 001 from the beginning of its launch. From various aspects such as appearance, driving experience, and intelligent experience, both brother brand models will form a competitive relationship.
The Xiaomi SU7, which is still popular today, is also a competitor to the Lynk&Co Z10. Not only does it have the same body size, but the price range from low-end to high-end (200000 to 300000 yuan) also has a high degree of overlap.
This also means that the Lynk&Co Z10 is facing a fiercely competitive pure electric market. Among the mid to large-sized pure electric sedans in the 200000 yuan range, models such as BYD Han pure electric version, Xiaomi SU7, Jike 001, Zhijie S7, and Avita 12 have already gained some popularity and occupied a considerable market share.
According to the Jielan Road terminal data platform, from January to July this year, the sales of Jike 001 were 61300 units, BYD Han EV was 46500 units, and Xiaomi SU7 was 40700 units. The Lynk&Co Z10, which was launched relatively late, may need more effort to capture users in this market.
The advantage of Lynk&Co lies in the intelligent supply within the Geely system. The Lynk&Co Z10 is equipped with the Makaru computing platform supplied by Yikatong, which is the first AMD V2000A desktop system chip. It is reported that the computing power of this chip is 1.8 times that of the mainstream Qualcomm 8295 chip in the industry.
The LYNK Flyme Auto system is still used in the car system, provided by StarCraft Meizu, which was established after Geely acquired Meizu Technology. It has been previously applied to models such as Galaxy E5, Lynk&Co 08, and Lynk&Co 07. Recently, there have been reports that Geely's internal intelligent cockpit business is undergoing integration, with executives from Geely Research Institute and Yikatong swapping positions. In the future, the two intelligent cockpit teams may move towards integration.
Lynk&Co was jointly established by Geely and Volvo. In the first eight months of this year, the Lynk&Co brand sold 169800 vehicles, an increase of 44% compared to the same period last year. From the current product layout of Lynk&Co, the sales contribution mainly comes from the fuel powered models Lynk&Co 03 and Lynk&Co 06, the hybrid model Lynk&Co 08 PHEV, and the newly launched Lynk&Co 07 PHEV this year.
Previously, Gan Jiayue, CEO of Geely Holding Group, announced that by 2025, all Lynk&Co products will be equipped with Lynk&Co's intelligent hybrid technology to achieve electrification of all products. As the brand's first pure electric sedan, the launch of the Lynk&Co Z10 is bound to meet the expectations of increased sales of Lynk&Co's pure electric products.
