Recently, at the "Hackathon" competition held internally by Baidu, participants proposed a total of 256 AI ideas, of which about 70% were related to intelligent agents. Since the beginning of this year, Baidu has accelerated the development of intelligent agents, launched the Baidu Wenxin Intelligent Agent Platform, and opened the Wenxin Big Model 4.0 for free on the platform.
It is reported that the "Hackathon" is an internal technology innovation competition for all employees at Baidu. This year, with the theme of intelligent agents and AI native applications, it has opened six innovation tracks including creation, entertainment, efficiency improvement tools, information acquisition, industry intelligence, and exploring the future. In this year's competition, over 60 intelligent agent ideas have entered the "semi-finals" market display section, including the "Memory Help" cognitive training assistant, the "Click! Everyone is a Photographer" AI camera, the AI cultural and creative printer, the sports event viewing AI assistant, the "Electronic Immortal Collection of Cyber Merit" wish consultant, the "Attack Treasure" interview assistant, the "Kapibala is Worried About You" electronic pet, and various other creative ideas.
The "Memory Help" cognitive training assistant intelligent agent, which won the first prize, aims to provide elderly people with professional, inexpensive, and easily accessible exclusive AI cognitive trainers who can provide targeted training for the elderly and provide AI assistants with stronger affinity and can complete training at home.
It is reported that the "Hackathon" has lasted for 12 years, with a total of 28 seasons, generating over 8000 creative ideas and more than 300 patents. After years of development, the "Hackathon" has become not only an internal competition for Baidu, but also a breeding ground for many technological product innovations. Intelligent translation machines, scenic area heat maps, nightingales (intelligent customer service), and the latest free AI lawyer "Law Firm Treasure" were all born from this competition.
According to multiple sources, Baidu is accelerating the implementation and ecosystem of intelligent agents. In April of this year, Baidu launched the Baidu Wenxin Intelligent Agent Platform and soon after made Wenxin Big Model 4.0 available for free on the platform, further benefiting developers. As of now, the platform has gathered 200000 developers and accumulated 63000 enterprise registrations. Not long ago, Robin Lee, the founder, chairman and CEO of Baidu, said in his speech that agent is his favorite AI application direction, which is the simplest AI application development.
