US) held the 2024 Intelligent Driving Summer Launch Conference, announcing that it will promote the "nationwide driving" no map NOA to all Ideal AD Max users in July, and will also launch fully automatic AES (automatic tight steering) and all-round low-speed AEB (automatic emergency braking) within July, covering the Ideal L6Max/L7/L8/L9/MEGA models. At the same time, Ideal Automobile has released a new autonomous driving technology architecture based on end-to-end models, VLM visual language models, and world models, and has launched the Early Bird Plan for the new architecture.
It is worth noting that Li Xiang, the CEO of Ideal Automobile, did not attend the press conference. Previously, at the 2024 China Auto Chongqing Forum, Li Xiang announced that he would launch a nationwide no map NOA in the third quarter of this year, and launch an end-to-end+VLM supervised auto drive system trained by 3 million clips to test users.
Li Xiang also said that supervised L3 level autonomous driving will be fully promoted by the end of this year at the latest, and unsupervised L4 level autonomous driving will be achieved within three years at the latest.

Release of new autonomous driving technology architecture

It is reported that Ideal Car's imageless NOA has freed itself from reliance on prior information. Users can use NOA in cities with navigation coverage nationwide, and even activate its function on narrow alleys and rural roads; It has the ability of spatiotemporal joint planning, making the avoidance and detour of road obstacles smoother for vehicles; In complex urban intersections, the road selection ability of non graph NOA is also significantly improved; It can identify irregular obstacles in a larger range, with higher perception accuracy. The vehicle can maintain a reasonable distance from other traffic participants, and the timing of acceleration and deceleration is also more appropriate.
In terms of active safety, Ideal Automobile has launched a fully automatic triggered AES automatic emergency steering function. When the vehicle is traveling at a fast speed, in some cases, even if AEB is triggered, the vehicle cannot stop in time with full force braking. At this point, the AES function will be triggered in a timely manner, automatically turning emergency without human intervention, avoiding obstacles ahead, and effectively avoiding accidents in extreme scenarios.

The all-round low-speed AEB is designed for parking and low-speed driving scenarios. In complex underground parking environments, obstacles such as pillars, pedestrians, and other vehicles increase the risk of scratching. The all-around low-speed AEB can effectively identify the risk of collision in forward, backward, and lateral directions, apply emergency braking in a timely manner, and avoid collisions.
Ideal Automobile has also released a new autonomous driving technology architecture based on end-to-end models (E2E), visual language models (VLM), and world models, and has launched the early bird plan for the new architecture.
The end-to-end model gives the ideal car the ability to quickly process information when facing daily driving, while the visual language model gives it the logical thinking ability to face complex scenes. The two systems work together to ensure high efficiency in most scenarios and high upper limits in a few scenarios, becoming the foundation for human cognition, understanding of the world, and making decisions.

Xiaopeng Motors (09868. HK/XPEV. US) is the first complete vehicle enterprise in China to release end-to-end large-scale models for mass production. On July 2nd, Xiaopeng Motors announced that as of now, XNGP urban intelligent driving has covered a total of 356 cities, and unlimited XNGP that can be driven nationwide will be fully launched this month. On July 4th, the Xiaopeng XNGP intelligent driving XOS 5.2.0 beta version was officially launched. This version is equipped with an end-to-end AI big model, which is easy to use nationwide and can be driven on the road.
In April of this year, NIO (09866. HK/NIO. US) launched a full push of NOP+urban functions for NIO Banyan · Rong intelligent system users. According to NIO's intelligent driving operation report in June, the total available road mileage in NIO's entire area is 3.899 million kilometers, of which the total available road mileage in urban areas is 3.539 million kilometers; The total verified mileage of intelligent driving in urban areas has reached 370 million kilometers; The total mileage driven by navigation assistance users has exceeded 1 billion kilometers.
In addition, the intelligent driving ability of Great Wall Motors (601633. SH) is also accelerating to catch up with the first tier. At the end of April and June this year, Wei Jianjun, Chairman of Great Wall Motors, conducted two live broadcasts in Baoding and Chongqing, showcasing Great Wall Motors' high-precision map free full scene NOA. According to the official introduction, the Coffee Pilot Ultra intelligent driving system of Great Wall Motors adopts the SEE end-to-end intelligent driving model. Great Wall Motors' city NOA plan is to open the first batch of cities in August this year, gradually on a monthly basis, and is expected to achieve nationwide opening by the end of the year.
