On June 25, it was reported that Wal Mart was planning to develop a new format for the third tier market recently. This format will "give up" the idea of taking fresh food as the main diversion category to do supermarkets. It will complement Sam's Club and make smaller packaged goods with Sam's existing supply chain.
In response to this, Wal Mart said that the above information was untrue.
