Compared to traditional products, both platforms can handle generative AI tasks at high speeds. For example, a terminal side chat assistant for Windows 11 PCs can process 30 tokens per second, or generate images on smartphones using Stable Diffusion in less than a second.
Among them, the Snapdragon X Elite platform adopts a customized integrated Qualcomm Oryon CPU. According to data from Qualcomm, compared to X86 peer products, the 12 high-performance cores of Qualcomm Oryon CPU have twice the performance of competitors, and the GPU supports 4.6 trillion floating-point calculations, which is also twice the performance of competitors; When reaching the same peak performance, the power consumption is only one-third of that of competitors, and it also supports three ultra high definition monitors.
Qualcomm stated that this generative AI processor can run a 13 billion parameter model on the terminal side, and can generate 30 tokens per second when facing a 7 billion parameter large language model; AI engine performance reaches 75 TOPS, Hexagon NPU performance reaches 45 TOPS, and AI processing speed is 4.5 times that of competitors.
OEM manufacturers are expected to launch PC products officially equipped with Snapdragon X Elite by the end of 2024.
