Apple's new flagship iPhone 15 Pro series has officially gone on sale, but some of the first customers to get their hands on the new device are not happy. What is the cause of the fever? Apple has yet to offer an official explanation.
There are three possible reasons: the heat dissipation film area is smaller than the previous generation of iPhone, the motherboard ignores heat dissipation, and the thermal conductivity of the titanium alloy frame is poor.
The A17 chip is also suspected to be the culprit. South Korean media BusinessKorea quoted some industry insiders as pointing out that the overheating of the iPhone 15 Pro Max may be related to TSMC's 3nm process. One of the factors behind this speculation is that the fin-type field-effect transistor (FinFET) process used in TSMC's 3nm process has reached miniaturization limits.
The media pointed out that as the chip size is miniaturized below the 3nm process, the current control challenge of using fin FET has increased, and the greater concern is that if TSMC's first-generation 3nm process products are defective, subsequent processes using the same technology may also encounter problems.
