On September 5th, the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) released its latest test results. In this evaluation, the flagship MPV of home technology - Ideal MEGA and the five seater luxury SUV - Ideal L6 both performed well, receiving G+(excellent+) ratings for passenger safety, pedestrian safety, and vehicle auxiliary safety. The durability and maintenance economy index also received A (good) ratings. This achievement marks that all models of Ideal Automobile have passed the highest level certification from China Insurance Research Institute, fully reflecting Ideal Automobile's corporate philosophy of "technological equality".
Evaluation of passenger safety index in the car: G+(excellent)
Both the Ideal MEGA and Ideal L6 have demonstrated outstanding performance in terms of in car passenger protection. Both models received G (excellent) ratings in all test items, including driver side frontal 25% offset collision, passenger side frontal 25% offset collision, side collision, and frontal 50% offset collision, achieving zero defects in passenger injury inside the vehicle. Behind this outstanding achievement is the strong support of Ideal Automotive's self-developed Ideal Fortress safety body, which provides flagship level safety protection for every passenger.
Ideal MEGA adopts a cage body structure and extensively uses advanced high-strength lightweight materials, with aluminum alloy accounting for 45% and high-strength steel accounting for over 34%. The car body adopts a vacuum high-pressure integrated die-casting rear floor frame, with a torsional stiffness of up to 44000Nm/deg, effectively resisting collision impact and protecting the safety of passengers inside the car. In addition, the ideal MEGA's body load path adopts a left-right symmetrical design, with three passenger compartment load paths. The A-pillars are filled with 805mm CBS structural reinforcements, and the doors are equipped with ultra high strength steel SOB beams. The door sills are made of the industry's strongest 11 grid extruded aluminum, ensuring the stability and deformation of both A-pillars. It is worth mentioning that the Ideal MEGA is the first large MPV in China to receive a G (excellent) rating in both driver and passenger side 25% offset collisions.
The body design of the Ideal L6 is equally outstanding, adopting a front double collision beam structure and optimized force transmission concept, effectively decomposing the frontal impact force during collisions. The torsional stiffness of the entire vehicle is as high as 35609Nm/deg, with high-strength steel accounting for 82.7%, of which hot formed steel accounts for 33.4%. The key structural components of the passenger compartment, such as A-pillars, B-pillars, seat crossbeams, roof crossbeams, door sills, and door crash beams, are all made of hot formed steel, forming a safe and sturdy cage style protective structure to ensure "zero intrusion" of the passenger compartment during collisions. In addition, all models of Ideal Auto are equipped with roll over airbag protection and remote airbags, and the second row seats are also equipped with side airbags as standard, providing equal safety protection for every passenger.
Vehicle auxiliary safety index evaluation: G+(excellent)
In terms of auxiliary safety of vehicles, both the Ideal L6 Pro model (without LiDAR) and the Ideal MEGA Ultra equipped with LiDAR perform well. In scenario tests involving vehicle to vehicle automatic emergency braking (AEB C2C) and pedestrian and rider automatic emergency braking (AEB VRU), the score rate of the Ideal L6 Pro was 95.9%, while the score rate of the Ideal MEGA Ultra was as high as 97.4%.
This outstanding achievement is attributed to the continuous upgrading of Ideal Intelligent Driving Technology. The AD Pro intelligent driving system equipped on the Ideal L6 Pro is based on the Horizon Journey 5 intelligent driving chip and the first mass-produced BEV model architecture for intelligent driving solutions. With pure vision as the main approach, it can recognize, brake, and avoid high-frequency accident scenarios earlier. The Ideal MEGA Ultra is equipped with the AD Max intelligent driving system, featuring dual N VIDIA Orin-X and powerful sensors, providing more accurate environmental perception capabilities, especially in identifying stationary vehicles and irregular obstacles at night. It also has stronger detection capabilities for complex urban road intersections.
In addition, the intelligent driving technology of Ideal Automobile is undergoing rapid iteration, and the intelligent driving capabilities of Ideal L9, Ideal L8, and Ideal L7 have also been comprehensively upgraded. Among them, the image free NOA function that can be used nationwide has been fully pushed to AD Max users, and end-to-end+VLM autonomous driving has shown extremely high ability limits and evolutionary capabilities among test users, and has launched recruitment for a 10000 person experience group.
Evaluation of pedestrian safety index outside the vehicle: G+(excellent)
Ideal cars not only focus on the safety of passengers inside the car, but also attach great importance to the safety of pedestrians outside the car. In the four tests of head shape test, leg shape test, upper leg shape test, and AEB VRU, the score rate of Ideal MEGA is 82.5%, and the score rate of Ideal L6 is 81.4%, both of which are among the top test models released by China Insurance Research Institute.
Impact resistance and maintenance economy index evaluation: A (good)
In the evaluation of durability and maintenance economy index, both Ideal MEGA and Ideal L6 received A (good) rating. Among the luxury car models tested in the China Insurance Car Safety Index since 2017, both of these models rank among the top.
