On May 7th, British autonomous driving company Wave announced on its official website that it had received a Series C investment of $1.05 billion (approximately RMB 7.576 billion), led by SoftBank Group, with new investors Nvidia and existing investors Microsoft joining in. It is reported that this round of financing will support Wave's comprehensive development and launch of its first embodied intelligent product for mass production vehicles. With the development of Wave's core artificial intelligence models, these products will enable original equipment manufacturers to efficiently upgrade cars to higher levels of autonomous driving, from L2+assisted driving to L4 autonomous driving.
According to data, Wave, founded in 2017, has developed and tested an end-to-end deep learning auto drive system on public roads. Now, the company is building a basic model of autonomous driving to enable vehicles to observe, think, and drive in any environment. (Tan Rong)
