On December 25th local time, United Airlines issued a statement stating that a body was found in the wheel compartment of the main landing gear of United Airlines Flight 202 after it arrived in Maui, Hawaii on the 24th.
According to a statement from United Airlines, Flight 202 took off from O'Hare International Airport in Chicago on the morning of December 24th, and the body was found after the plane landed at Kahului Airport in Maui, Hawaii. There is currently no information available regarding the identity of the deceased.
United Airlines stated that the landing gear wheel compartment can only be accessed from the outside of the aircraft, and is working with law enforcement to investigate how the deceased entered the wheel compartment before death. The police also stated that the case is still under further investigation and there are no further details to disclose.
