On September 17th, Boeing announced that it will freeze recruitment and postpone salary increases for regular employees, as the company struggles to cope with the financial impact of the strike initiated by its largest union last Friday. The company announced cost saving measures in a notice to employees on Monday. Boeing's Chief Financial Officer Brian West said in a notice, "This strike seriously endangers our recovery, and we must take necessary action to preserve cash and safeguard our common future."
