The patent can generate dynamically adjustable limits on component noise based on environmental noise, sounds generated by other devices, the status of audio output devices, or applications actively utilized at electronic devices. For example, when an electronic device determines that the user is engaged in sound tolerance activities, the limit value of the sound generation component can be increased; When it is determined that the user is engaged in sound sensitive activities, the limit value of the sound generation component can be reduced. The sound generation components may include speakers, fans, blowers, tactile components, piezoelectric actuators, motors, etc.
