At the invitation of Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, Sullivan, the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, visited China from August 27th to 29th to hold a new round of strategic communication between China and the United States. This afternoon (27th), Sullivan arrived in Beijing by plane and began his visit to China. This is the first visit to China by Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs after eight years, and the first visit to China by Assistant Sullivan during his tenure. It is also an important measure for both sides to implement the consensus reached at the San Francisco Summit between the two heads of state.
