On August 15th local time, the UK Civil Aviation Authority announced that Amazon and six other organizations will participate in a trial to test the use of drones in remote areas. This experiment will include drones flying outside the operator's line of sight in British airspace. This experiment will collect data on how drones detect and avoid other aircraft, as well as send electronic signals for other airspace users and air traffic control departments to see the drone's data. Currently, Amazon has not obtained permission to operate drones in the UK.
