On March 7th local time, American electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian announced a new mid size platform, which serves as the foundation for the R2 and R3 product lines. R2 is Rivian's new mid size SUV, featuring a five seater design. R3 is a mid size crossover car with a small body size, while R3X is the high-performance version of R3. R2 and R3 will be equipped with two specifications of batteries. The selling price of R2 is expected to start at around $45000, while the selling price of R3 will be lower than R2. R2 is expected to be delivered in the first half of 2026. R2, R3, and R3X will be sold globally after their launch in North America.
