On May 27th, Meta Platforms has added security features to the social media data tracking tool CrowdTangle in an attempt to alleviate concerns from the European Union. The EU conducted an investigation last month into the impact of its decision to phase out this tool. Meta announced last week that candidates for next month's European Parliament elections will see notifications on how to protect themselves and their accounts on the top of their Facebook and Instagram feeds.
