Tesla officially announced today that its global total of supercharging stations has exceeded 60000. Currently, in China, Tesla has established over 2000 supercharging stations and equipped 11622 supercharging stations, accounting for about one-fifth of its global charging stations.
In September 2012, Tesla launched a network of supercharging stations, which had only 6 supercharging stations at the time. Within 12 years, the scale had expanded to 60000.
In September 2023, Tesla announced that the global number of supercharging stations would reach 50000. In January of this year, Tesla announced that it had deployed 55000 supercharging stations worldwide.
Over the past year, multiple competitors have announced partnerships with Tesla to adopt its charging standards in the United States and gain access to its supercharging station network. This includes companies such as Ford, General Motors, Rivian, Volvo, and Mercedes Benz.
Most car manufacturers plan to integrate this standard into their vehicles starting from 2025 and provide adapters to existing customers starting from 2024.
Tesla claims that its supercharging stations can increase the range by 200 miles in 15 minutes, reducing the waiting time for electric vehicle owners at charging stations.
