BNSF Railroad, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, announced that members of the Railway, Machinery, and Engineering Division (SMART-MD) of the International Sheet Metal, Aviation, Rail, and Transport Union voted on Friday local time to approve a five-year agreement with the company. The agreement stipulates that during the validity period of the agreement, wages will increase by 3.5% annually, while also providing better medical benefits and more holidays for railway workers in the early stages of their careers.
