Lucas, a senior amusement equipment control software engineer at Walt Disney Fantasy Engineering, introduced that this project is the first time in mainland China to adopt a trackless riding system. "This is currently the most powerful technology we use in scenic spots," Lucas said.
Lucas introduced that this innovative technology has been applied in multiple iconic attractions, including "Ratatouille: Adventure" at Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World Resort, "Lost Mansion" at Disneyland Hong Kong, and "Mickey and Minnie's Rapid Railroad" and "Star Wars: The Rise of Resistance Organizations" at Disneyland California and Walt Disney World Resort. Zootopia: Heat Tracking is the latest generation of themed attractions created using this technology.
It is reported that "Zootopia" is the second major expansion project of Shanghai Disney Resort since its grand opening in 2016, and also the eighth largest theme park of Shanghai Disneyland.
