According to US media reports, astronauts aboard Boeing's StarCraft spacecraft to the International Space Station recently heard strange pulse sounds from the spacecraft and contacted the Mission Control Center in Houston for assistance. NASA announced on the 2nd that the pulse sound heard by astronauts from the spacecraft was caused by the audio configuration between the spacecraft and the space station, and it has now been stopped.
NASA announced on social media X that American astronaut Barry Wilmore has stopped hearing the pulsating sound from the speakers of the StarCraft spacecraft. This sound is caused by the audio configuration between the space station and the 'interstellar aircraft'. The audio system of the International Space Station is very complex, allowing multiple spacecraft and modules to be interconnected, resulting in frequent feedback noise. As required, astronauts should contact the mission control center when they hear sound from the communication system.
The article states that the speaker feedback noise heard by Wilmore has no technical impact on the operation of astronauts, the "StarCraft" or the space station, including the plan for the "StarCraft" to leave the International Space Station and return to Earth without passengers before September 6th.
American astronauts Wilmore and Williams were launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Base in Florida on June 5th aboard an "interstellar plane" and arrived at the International Space Station on June 6th. The spacecraft was originally scheduled to depart from the space station and return to Earth on June 14th, but due to propulsion failures and helium leaks, the return time has been repeatedly postponed. NASA announced on August 30th that the "StarCraft" program will depart from the International Space Station and return to Earth on September 6th. Two astronauts will return to Earth in February next year aboard SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft.
