On March 5th, the Federal Aviation Administration announced that a production audit of Boeing and its supplier, Spirit Aerosystems, found that the two companies had failed to comply with manufacturing quality control requirements multiple times. The Federal Aviation Administration also stated that Boeing has been found to have non-compliance issues in manufacturing process control, component handling and storage, and product control. The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States did not provide a detailed explanation of the specific corrective measures that Boeing and Sentinel Aviation Systems must take, but sent audit results to both companies in the completed audit.
