According to the latest statement released on Microsoft's official blog on July 20th, Microsoft expects that the updates to CrowdStrike currently affect 8.5 million Windows devices, accounting for less than 1% of all Windows devices. Microsoft stated that although this proportion is small, the widespread economic and social impact reflects that many businesses that provide critical services are using CrowdStrike critical services.
On July 18th, cybersecurity company CrowdStrike released a software update that affected global IT systems, causing a large number of Windows users to experience blue screens and service interruptions on their computers. The incident affected multiple industries such as aviation, energy, and finance.
