According to @ CCTV International News Weibo, on July 18th local time, a Boeing 777 aircraft operated by Air India flying from India to the United States experienced a "suspected technical malfunction" during flight and diverted to land at an airport in Siberia, Russia. The Russian Federal Aviation Transport Agency stated that the aircraft taxied to the parking position after landing and there were no signs of fire or smoke on board. According to Russian media reports, the aircraft in question requested to land after triggering a smoke detector alarm.
