According to reports, the Boeing 737-800 aircraft of American Airlines had a flat tire while taxiing on the runway, and a large amount of smoke and fire erupted near the landing gear.
American media reported that there were 174 passengers and 6 crew members on board the plane, all of whom have safely disembarked. American Airlines stated that the aircraft had a mechanical malfunction and the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the matter.
