Saudi Arabia has extended oil production cuts until the end of the year as tight supplies continue to support energy prices.
The Saudi Press Agency said in a statement that the kingdom would extend a 1 million barrel per day reduction in oil production until the end of December.
According to Wednesday's statement, the cuts have been in place since July, and by November and December, Saudi Arabia's oil production could be around 9 million barrels per day.
Oil prices have risen sharply in recent weeks amid a supply squeeze from Saudi Arabia and Russia. the International Energy Agency and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) Opec has predicted a supply deficit this year, and analysts expect Brent to remain above $90 a barrel into the fourth quarter.
Brent crude was down 1 percent at $89.96 a barrel by 0954 GMT.
