On January 3rd, Longji Green Energy and NIO jointly announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement, aiming to jointly promote the use of photovoltaic power generation for green and clean energy in charging and swapping stations, create industry-leading photovoltaic storage and charging and swapping integrated stations, and cooperate in promoting distributed photovoltaics in conjunction with V2G vehicle grid interaction, and establishing industry standards related to "travel carbon neutrality". Longji Green Energy stated that in the future, it will work together with NIO to create more new "carbon neutral" scenarios for transportation, comprehensively helping the energy infrastructure of the transportation system develop towards a cleaner, greener, and lower carbon direction.
Jointly develop and promote photovoltaic charging and swapping power stations
According to the agreement, both parties will cooperate in the use of photovoltaic smart energy systems in charging and swapping power stations, the construction of distributed photovoltaic cooperation with V2G projects, and the establishment of industry standards related to "travel carbon neutrality" to jointly promote the use of clean electricity energy in charging and swapping infrastructure.
At the recently concluded 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), more than 190 contracting parties, including China, reached an agreement to include "getting rid of fossil fuels" in the text for the first time, calling on all parties to achieve net zero emissions as soon as possible. This means that the global net zero emissions process, including in the transportation sector, will inevitably accelerate.
The transportation sector has always been one of the "two mountains" of global carbon emissions. According to data released by the International Energy Agency (IEA), global transportation carbon emissions exceeded 8.4 billion tons in 2022, accounting for approximately 23% of global total carbon emissions. Among them, the total carbon emissions in China's transportation sector in 2022 are about 1.2 billion tons, especially in road transportation, which currently accounts for more than 85% of the country's total transportation carbon emissions. It is the absolute mainstay and key focus of transportation carbon emissions reduction.
In recent years, with the improvement of environmental awareness and technological progress, electric vehicles are gradually becoming a new choice for people's travel. The first HPBC photovoltaic swapping station has been put into operation
It is worth mentioning that Longi Green Energy's first HPBC (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact) photovoltaic converter station in collaboration with NIO has now been put into operation.
According to Longi Green Energy, the power station adopts the new generation component Hi-MO X6 developed by Longi Green Energy based on high-efficiency HPBC battery technology. This component product has no grid lines on the front and no metal electrodes blocking it, resulting in better power generation performance. It can effectively improve the anti cracking ability of the component and is also more aesthetically pleasing. It can also meet different architectural design styles and harmoniously match diverse scenes.
In this power station, Longi Green Energy Hi-MO X6 modules are integrated with NIO's leading swapping station technology through a customized BIPV (Building Photovoltaic Integration) solution, achieving green power travel while ensuring safety, reliability, prefabricated delivery, and economy.
Starting from this, Longji Green Energy stated that it will work together with NIO to create more new "carbon neutral travel" scenarios in the future. Zhong Baoshen said, "In the future, both sides will inevitably collide more sparks in photovoltaic+charging and swapping infrastructure, V2G system solutions, and industry standards related to 'carbon neutrality in transportation', comprehensively helping the energy infrastructure of the transportation system develop towards a cleaner, greener, and lower carbon direction, and also allowing new energy vehicle owners to enjoy a green and zero carbon new life."
